ARTISOFT WINS TWO READER'S CHOICE AWARDS FOR LANTASTIC(R) LOCAL
AREA NETWORK SOFTWARE & ARTISOFT(TM) HARDWARE
(TUCSON, AZ -- December 7, 1992) -- Artisoft, Inc. announced today
that it has won two top awards for its LANtastic Local Area Network
software and Artisoft hardware products. In two award presentations
at COMDEX, Artisoft was honored with PC World's 1992 World Class
Award for LAN Operating Systems for the LANtastic Local Area
Network, and Reseller Management's Reader's Choice Award for
Networking Hardware for Artisoft's AE-2TM Ethernet adapter.
"These reader's choice awards are especially important because they
validate our commitment to addressing users' needs." said Joe
Waldygo, Artisoft's Director of Marketing and Public Relations. "We
are dedicated to providing functional, low-cost and easy- to-use
products to the reseller and enduser, and when they show that they
appreciate your products, you know you're doing the right thing."
PC World's tenth annual World Class Awards program required readers
to fax in the names of their favorite products in 42 categories,
from the top desktop PC to the most useful utility. Runners up to
the LANtastic network in the LAN Operating System category included
Novell's NetWare(R) 3.xx, 2.xx and NetWare LiteTM, and Microsoft's
LAN Manager(TM). This marks Artisoft's 4th top award from PC World,
with others including the 1992 Best Buy Award for Peer-to- Peer
LANs and the 1989 Best Buy Award for Low-Cost LANs.
For its fifth annual Reader's Choice Awards, Reseller Management
sent ballots to its readers with the August issue and by the
September 15th deadline, thousands of resellers had sent in their
votes for the Best-To-Sell Products of 1992. Reseller Management
reports that in the past four years, the criteria resellers most
frequently cited for their product selections included profit
margin, product availability, dealer support, performance,
competitive pricing, and dealer/vendor programs.
